Trying to decide which would be better the Solix 12 SI mega or Helix 12 SI mega. I currently run the 1199 at the console and 999 on the bow. I would like to use the new unit on the console and possibly rearrange the others and have them all networked together. With only a $300 difference I'm not sure which to go with or any networking issues either may have with current units. Thoughts?

Both units will only share waypoints to the core units. Either unit is great. I run 2 helix's that are alsome, but I would buy the solix just for the customizable views.

Isn't Solix a touch unit and Helix a button unit? Seems like the touch would be much better to me. If there is only a 300 dollar difference, I would go Solix for sure.

I havent messed with the solix on the water, and obviously not in the summer heat, but I have had issues with touch models in the past when it gets really hot. I am sure the Solix touch screen is great, but it really wouldnt be a selling point for me personally.

I'd buy a Helix Mega cause next year there will be a "Solix G2" and then a "Solix G2BT" or something that will just make you regret buying a first gen product.

A Helix is the current version of what the number series(core)was. Shares the same data---GPS/Sonar/Sensors/Accessories The SOLIX will only share waypoints to Helix/core. Same as the ONIX. The SOLIX is the new version of ONIX, they have the same operating software and same menu system. All versions of the SOLIX are cross-touch.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3, Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1
