I grabbed a nice bucket from the corner near the bridge as well.

Has anyone actually caught a bass out of the one closest to the parking lot on the right hand side? I see people fishing in there all the time and I don't think I have ever seen anyone grab one out of there. All the other lakes, yes.. but not that one.

That is a really nice bass out of that pond. Most of the guys who fish that pond regularly, call it the main pond. Then there's the back pond, lower pond, and horse shoe pond. There are tons of dinks in that pond. Part of the reason is the pond is pretty shallow all the way around. The other 3 ponds hold bigger fish, but you can certainly catch more in numbers at the main pond.

That looks like my Sheila lol (the bass). I caught her a few years ago fishing a tournament there. CKCrew is correct, there's a bunch of dinks in all the ponds. The city designed it this way so people could catch fish. They won't be huge generally, but they will catch fish. The "Horseshoe" pond probably has the biggest bass out of all the ponds. All of those ponds get pressure so the bigger bass rarely bite artificial baits. They've been around long enough to know the difference most of the time.

A bass that big out of any of those ponds are rare, so your wife should feel extremely proud to catch a bass of that size there. I've been fishing those ponds before they were even open to the public and never caught anything that size until a few years ago. She can hold her chin up high and know she is one of the few and be proud. I only know of 2 other fish being caught in any of those ponds that are that size or bigger and 2 of them are mine lol.

Oboe, that is a great fish! if you are talking about never seeing fish pulled out of the horseshoe pond, then you are not alone. I have caught some fish in there over the past four years, but that is the one that is hardest to fish. If you are talking about the pond near the rec center, then that pond has some nice fish in it and is fairly consistent and easy to fish. And as Brandon said, the fish at Bethany get as much if not more pressure than any fish within miles and miles.

pond down the road tucked away in the neighborhood I caught a 5. The one close to kroger I caught a 4. Ive caught dinks out of all the other ones.

The one towards the neighborhood has monsters in it. Grabbed a 6 out of there yesterday. Only caught two overall though. Too much pressure now.

I still have never seen anyone catch out of the horseshoe.. the rest of them I have. Next time I am up there I will dedicate time to the first lake.

Also, about 2 weeks ago we caught two 4 or 5lb catfish on baby brush hogs... That was strange. Back to back.
