I've never painted jig heads and some of the guys or girl on here are killing it! What is a good place to start? I know you their are a lot of paints out there ( powder, nail polish and air brush) but I really would like something I could add glitter too. I don't have a lot of money right now, so any helpful tips or lessons y'all have learned along your journey would be a big help!

Powder paint is the standard method. If cured, it's probbably the toughest also.

Crazy Anglers sells powder by the ounce, 1 ounce will paint a LOT of jigheads.

Check out youtube, to see the process. Its fairly simple. thumb

Most of us use powder, but you can get nail polish with glitter in it. Redgun gave you some good advice. With powder heat control is the most important part to learn, and have fun it is addicting... thumb

I started out with jig making with fingernail polish and D2 (Devcon 2 ton epoxy, thin with alcohol,). Can add glitter to it also. Used that for a few years and it worked fine but paint would chip off hitting rocks or just through hard use. Use a white base coat and whatever colors you want coating with D2 really makes em pop!

Glitter comes in various sizes. The fine glitter usually works best.
You can use powder paint and just as you withdraw the jig head from the powder, have your glitter tube ready and lightly sprinkle the glitter on the wet paint. It will stick well enough as the paint hardens. Place a piece of paper down and sprinkle above that. When finished, the excess glitter is on the paper and can be put back in the tube by creasing the paper. You can also use clear finger nail polish and sprinkle the glitter on before it dries.
