The family and I are going to Broken Bow this weekend, we will be staying at Lakeview Lodge. Is anyone else going this weekend, or been there before? We have been to Beaver's Bend several times over the years trout fishing, canoe/kayaking so we know the area well but this will be the first time taking the boat and getting out on Broken Bow. I'm ignoring the forecast for storms this weekend, the weatherman lies like a rug anyway.

I've never been on the lake. We are getting there Monday and staying till Friday. I'm looking forward to fishing Broken Bow. I was thinking about heading up to the north end of the lake and fishing the stump field that shows up on my navionics. Let me know how you did. Good luck!
Are you only there for the weekend?

Fishing is good now as the fish are shallow. I guide on the lake and the crappie fishing is excellent. Try the pockets with a fluke or a yellow magic. Otter, bee and bull creeks should be good as well as linson and holly creeks. Been catching limits of nice crappie (37).

I finally took my boat last summer for the first time out of all the times I've been there, and I won't leave it at home again. We were there around early June last year and I loaded in at the Carson's Creek ramp, the first ramp to the left. I mainly fished that area of the lake by the golf course and the other coves around. Fished mornings and evenings and had good success with spooks, yellow magics, senko's, and a few on frogs. I mainly fished the topwater next to the rock and on points. Caught several each time out, biggest was just shy of 6lbs. It's a fun time and a pretty Lake. Wish I was going this year but we have newborn twins so we decided to wait till next year.

We are up here now. Went to the river and nothing. I've heard great things about the trout fishing, but I am not sure where the great fishing is. Lol. Haven't seen a trout or heard of anyone catching any. Gonna be a long boring weekend for me. I hope you have great luck on the lake

Go to E Z mart and get a card from Steve Branson. He is a great trout guide. He catches a lot and he catches a lot of big trout. Go with him for half a day and then you will know what to do.

The trout fishing got a lot tougher to fish in Zone 1 (where it used to be easy) after the lake levels nearly crested the dam and they released it at like 20,000CFS for several days and blew out the river. You might want to go down and try your hand downstream of the Rereg dam (where the kayak outfits drop people in the river) or even further south of there, bring a bass rod too as there can be some good smallie fishing throwing senkos etc if you can find some sizeable pockets out of the main river flow.

Well we had a blast and can't wait to go back! It was more of a family boating weekend than a full fishing weekend but my son and I were able to sneak off in the early morning and get some fishing in. We caught a few small mouths in the coves on spinner baits and crank baits. The scenery on the lake is incredible and it's well worth it to run it top to bottom and try to take it all in. My daughter saw her first bald eagle as we floated in one of the coves. We found several areas that we plan to fish when we go back now that we have had a chance to explore it.
We were impressed by Beavers Bend Marina, it was well staffed and no launch fees.
largemouthokie, thanks for the tips next time we come up we may holler at ya and hire you to take us out and show us how to do it right.
79scooter, I hope you found the trout and had good time. The trout get a lot of pressure especially from the push button crowd but the trout are there and a good guide to point you in the right direction is a great idea.

Rjack81, the north end looks like money! That is definitely where we plan to fish when we go back. The area due west of the marina looks like a good place to start the morning off too! Head out of the marina and hang a right, pass the house boats and see what you think. Good luck!
