Been some time since I've logged in or even gone sunfishing! When I do get to fish, it's been saltwater for the last couple years, but I got my dad and grandfather on some decent bream today at Lake Raven!

Very few on beds- mostly shallow around timber. All caught on gulp 1" minnows on a 1/64 jig under a cork or a half Berkeley trout worm rigged the same way. Kept about a two dozen, biggest going 10". I think if the weather gets hotter they'll really turn on!

Side note. Raven is on my to do list. Have you seen any kayakers on Raven? Is the lake a good lake for kayaks?

Lake Raven is about 3 mins from my casa. It is a good place to kayak, the gators will not bother you but might make you a little nervous. Great panfishing!

Huntsville SP has always been our "go to" camping spot. We take out the kayaks each time and catch big blue gill along banks with tall reeds. Gators have only been an issue for us at night when a few will patrol the fishing piers.

Always leave nature cleaner than you found it.

Nice! cheers

Raven is a really good bluegill lake! They have dropped sharelunkers in there in the past, so it keeps the bluegill numbers down so the good genes bluegill have less competition. I used to make a trip to Raven at least once a year. Normally in the Spring before the gators start moving better. Gonna have to start making trips out there again.

Thanks for all the replies- good to see some of the same people still posting after the last few years!

Raven is fantastic- before I sold my kayaks it was my favorite place to yak. Fish always biting, gators and other wildlife always out and about. I missed bream fishing. We are already planning another trip.
