I was fishing the dam on Texoma yesterday, I was using a 1.5 square bill and I hooked into something really big, I probably snagged it, anyway I played the fish for right at an hour, it spooled my reel several times, I just followed it with the trolling motor, it would swim down to 30-40 feet and just sit there, one time I had it close to the boat, maybe 8-10 feet of line out, when it dove back down it made a swirl as big as a car hood. What a kick in the shorts, it got off and I never got to see it, I am thinking it may have been a 100 pound catfish, it was very heavy. My arm and shoulder is still sore.

An hour? I've caught 60-70 lb cats flipping grass but they came in in about 5-10 min. You probably foul hooked a giant Buffalo or a giant cat in the tail. Much harder to land foul hooked

Caught a big old carp once and had to fight him a while.
Of course I thought I had a big old catfish.

I foul hooked what looked to be a 40-50 pound smallmouth buffalo. I fought it for 30 minutes and got it close enough to see it but my line eventually broke. The thing towed my aluminum boat out into the middle of the lake

I only catch small fish, so never more than a few seconds.

If it went in circles, in was probably a catfish. Probably foul hooked it and a big one too.

I would bet it was a giant catfish, when I tried to pull it up from the bottom it was like I had a sack of concrete, lots of weight, are there alligator gar in Texoma ?

I hooked a fish on a 5XD on Ray Roberts and fought the fish for 15-20 minutes before he came to the surface. It was a giant (at least to me) catfish and I had foul hooked him near his tail. I saw him and he saw me and he dove back for the bottom. I was using 12 lb Big Game and I just couldn't stop his runs. After a while longer, I started putting more and more pressure on the spool to try to end the fight. The 5XD pulled free and I only had a few pieces of catfish flesh to show for the 30 minute fight.

I caught a drum that would of gone 15 lbs. Thought I had a share a lunker until I got it close enough to see it. Caught it on a white chatterbait off a main lake point at Fork.
