Wife and I are doing the 20 mile stretch starting at Hwy 16 and taking out at Rochelles. We use to do this trip a good bit, but will be our first trip back up there in a few years. Anything changed much? How has the water been as far as flows and color? Islands still good to camp on about halfway? Really looking forward to getting back up there!!!!

Not much has changed over the years. Plenty of islands to camp on. The flow is about 170 cfs, shouldn't have to drag too much. Water clarity has been pretty good, unless there has been recent heavy rains. Fishing is awesome. Good luck, you'll have a good trip.

That long dock that used to stick way out right before 10 mile island got swept to the side that last big flood they had.

You should check with BRA on flow. Big rains upstream at Seymour and into the clear fork by Abilene. BRA will likely start releasing more water in anticipation of that water coming.

Yeah, gonna keep an eye on it. We aren't putting in until Saturday morning so if anything, it will make for less paddling and dragging!

Had a great trip despite the rain late Saturday night/Sunday morning. Fishing was excellent with over 50 fish caught. Had blacks, spots, one smallie and one striper. Biggest bass was 5.2 with lots of 2-2.5lb fish all along the way. Striper was 21", didn't get a weight. Most fish came on a craw worm and square bill in sexy shad.
