Not many reports lately. I've been a couple of times recently and seems to have tightened up. Parking lot not as full and boats running a lot and not staying anywhere long. Haven't seen many fish being boated - a few but not like it was last month. Anybody been?

Right about now the majority of the fish leave the timber and go offshore. The fishing gets tougher from here on out, the biggest reason being they are just harder to fish efficiently when out deeper.

Last two weeks has been awesome on my part, but Saturday was a bust. I went from 40 fish to 12 fish. Oh well, I will get em next trip out. The early morning bite has been real good, guess I'll need to get there much sooner if I want a catch some. I have been arriving around 12:30 to 1 pm, so the time frame in which these guys are feeding has changed.

I don't know what happened; wrong moon phase, rising barometric pressure, isobars not right, wind out of the wrong direction, high humidity, or what, but Saturday was TOUGH!

Be safe,

A buddy and I went out about 2 weeks ago and did decent. Boated 19 fish from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Most of the fish were caught on top water so it made for a fun trip. We went on a mostly overcast day and water temperature was floating just above 80 deg F. There was a first for us when my buddy foul hooked a tilapia on a crank bait. Just after I netted her, she spews a large amount of something from her body. At first I think it is some kind of parasite then at a closer look you can see the movement of the little creatures...it was hundreds of little tilapia fry. Pretty wild!

Anyhow, I'd agree with Jpurdue, most of the fish are going to start moving to the deep areas of the lake for summer.

30 feet is probably the deepest I've hooked up with bass on Fayette. Throw a C/R when ever I fish that deep. I can cover a little more area.

Fayette has been a little off, the bite is slowing down. If you catch it on the right hour you can come out ok, but it is a hit or miss thing right now. A little bit slower this way, but the numbers are in deeper water right now, you just got a find it. And that isn't always so easy to do. I have a guy who has been bugging me to death to take him out again so I might do that today. I thought he wanted me to go with him in his boat, come to find out, he is making these fishing plans, asking me if I want a go, but we are taking my boat. Hmmm, that doesn't sound right huh? He said his boat was for one angler to fish out of. I said then why do you have two seats to fish from? Oh well, guess he wants me to hook him up on some fish.

If you are catching fish in 25-35 FOW, are these fish on the bottom or suspended.
Also, are they associating with any type of structure (hump, deeper point, creek channel, etc).

Thank you for any advise.

In December they were on the bottom chasing bait in 35ft. It was a weekend with only 2 boats on the water. High wind and a high of 40. U could barely fish, but was catching enough to stay. Earlier this year, The ones I caught were close to the damn but not on the edge and chasing bait. Both times i caught them on drop shot.

I was out there this past Friday from sun up till 3pm. We caught 80 fish between the 2 of us. All came less than 15ft of water. Biggest was around 5lbs.
