Have you ever flipped over the ol yak to go far a paddle and find something seemingly, "not right"? The sound in my hull was suspicious so I investigated. Brrrrr! Opened the hatch to find a nightmare! It didn't take long to close the hatch. I think it's snake free naw! 13 total!
BTW, if you ever open a hatch and a snake comes out, DONT SLAM the hatch! It pins them and makes em real mad! That one went free for another adventure!

I can't tell from the picture if those are cottonmouths or water snakes. Either way, nonononononono.

F that!! Even if they were just harmless water snakes that really dark coloring looks way too much like a cottonmouth to me and if I had been on the water YIKES!! Good thing you found/heard them while on land!!

Note to self!....Keep the hatches closed when storing kayak!
