I'm tired of spending my kid's college money on fluorocarbon. I want to find a sensitive low stretch line for pulling fish out from under docks with a finesse jig. Any advice would be appreciated.

Use braid with a fluorocarbon leader.

Power Pro Braid mainline to Pline CXX leader
Pline CXX in 12lb test for smaller jigs
Pline CXX in 17lb test for heavier jigs

Haven't seen the "invisibility" of fluorocarbon make a difference at any of the lakes I fish.

Pline CXX is strong, cheap, low stretch, and abrasion resistant.

have you tried Red Label Seagar? Good line and reasonably priced. Check your local Walmart - I found some on sale for 6 or 7 bucks a spool so I cleaned them out of 15 and 20 lb.

Instead of braid, I use McCoys Mean Green for everything moving. It has a good amount of stretch, about like Big Game, but it is VERY good line. VERY low memory, great strength, abrasion resistance is off the charts. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I've recently changed from Suffix Tritanium copolymer to P-line Flouroclear, so far I'm happy with the change, the p-line doesn't seem to stretch and is still pretty sensitive.

I do not bass fish any but about a year ago tried the new Gliss from Ardent, now almost every reel is spooled with it and do not intend to change, the best casting line I have ever tried. if you try it and do not like it sent it back .

Ditch the floor and just go with big game mono , it's rare that I break off and I fish rip rap , stumps , docks etc... now floor on the other hand I've broken off setting the hook , broken off getting snagged on twigs etc. Definitely not worth the money.

I'm mainly a finesse angler and I love and use a braid mainline to a fluorocarbon leader. Pro anglers use this for a reason.

But, the added value is likely just a few percentile points in terms of fishing. Add a bunch of these small advantages up and they become significant.

But, you'll have a great time reverting to straight monofilament: not bad on visibility (buy the clear stuff), not bad on sink rate (better than braid), holds knots better, easier to cast than fluoro (like 10X times easier), the better monos are not much stretchier than fluoro (Tackle Tour studies show they are very comparable), and much more manageable (like a million times more so) on many reels than straight fluoro.

And, one of the very best braids would be Sufix Elite. Stay as light as possible, certainly on spinning gear, say 8 lbs. there and maybe 12 on a casting reel, and your jig will likely never know the difference. Big Game mono and some of the others would work great, too.

If you want to see truly stretchy mono, the one that comes to mind is that red monofilament line Zebco reels often come out of the box spooled up. It is almost like an exercise band. Ha!
