Wakebaits arn't a good dirty water bait, but its hard to beat a 9in Black MS Slammer. I like to throw a 10in Triple Trout (Cut Tail) also. If you can get your hands on a 3:16 Wakebait Jr, thats one of the best wakebaits out there. Make sure you have the right equipment, I like a 795 Mike Long Dobyns Champion Swimbait rod with a Lews Super Duty wide spool 6.4:1 or a Lews BB1 Pro Series Speed Spool in a 6.4:1. Both reels can handle the big baits and have enough capacity to spool 65lb braid for long casts. I like the 6.4:1 reels because with big wakebaits you want to go as slow as possible, Switch out the stock hooks with Owner ST 41s in 2/0 and make sure you switch the split rings with Owner Hyperwire split rings. PM me if you want more information. Wakebaits are my favorite.

I need to throw large swim baits more than I do, learn more about them and catch bigger fish.

Something with an orange, white, or chartreuse bottom will work well. But it's hard for them to see in dirty water, so be sure you pick one that has a rattle in it and displaces a lot of water.
