Took the little toon out for a quick shakedown run. Pontoons are clean, only me aboard, no extra equipment, and only five gallons of petrol. Most it would run is 5350 rpm. It a 90hp 4 stroke Yamaha. Website says rpm should be 5000-6000 at WOT.

So, is it doing what it should, or do I need o get a better prop to get me closer to the 6000 mark. Prop is the aluminum one the dealer put on it.

Like Pat said do not get just any prop. It has to be a pontoon designated prop or you will experience prop blowout.

Does yam have a prop select wizard of some kind? Pontoon forum has some discussion on prop performance.

Call Steves prop at fork and get a powertech toon blade. I've rigged a fleet of toons that prop makes a huge difference.
