Need to put some grease on the worm gear on my Concept C. I was just going to go get Penn grease but wondering if y'all have any suggestions? Prefer it to be able to buy in the store because I'll be using it this Friday

Clean the grease off and lube with oil only. Grease catches too much grime and gums up your levelwind.

Yamaha marine all purpose grease, or pretty much any marine grease will work fine.

See a few people mentioning oil, I've never tried putting oil on gears, thought it was oil only on bearings and grease on gears. I usually put a little grease on a old toothbrush and brush it on the gears lightly. I've always used the little white cans that came with the older shimano reels

I wouldn't use oil on any internal gears. I use oil on the level wind pawl, worm gear, shaft and its bearings though. I clean and lube these twice as often as internal parts.

Forgot to update what I ended up with.. Just got the plain jane blue Penn grease from Academy. Stuff works great!
