You're welcome, sir. That report is jam-packed with a bunch of good info thumb

You're probably right. Might be closer to 500, since this report was done by Todd Driscoll in 2010.

https://tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_rp_t3200_1561.pdf Bottom of page 3.

A total of 405 tournament events were held with 25,396 total participants.
Of these, 304 were conducted by “bass clubs” (<50 participants), 82 by
“lower open organizations” (>50 participants with entry fee <US$130), and
18 by “upper open organizations” (>50 participants with entry fee
>US$130).

Good find Fouz. I knew there are numerous clubs every weekend. I didn't know about the working man tournaments during week. Amazing how well Rayburn fishes for the pressure it gets. I wonder what would happen if say pressure were to drop over 75% for 2 years or so. I bet lake would truly be insane.

Would love to see the numbers of just normal anglers not competing in tournament events on these high profile fisheries. I'd suspect it's close to 4-5X the 25k in tournament anglers in a year. Tournaments get the brunt of the negativity related to blame for pressure when in fact they're a small portion of the overall fishing activity on any body of water.

Rayburn is fine, Toledo Bend and Guntersville will be fine. The skies not falling. It's not BASS' fault or FLW or MLF or any other tournament organizations. Stop the madness.

Anglers want to fish good lakes. They're going to watch forum posts, TV, social media etc and they're going to plan trips to places that they enjoy and give them a better chance to catch fish. That hasn't changed. We just have faster access to the data/info today.

Me too, Mark. My original point was this...

Big Sam is really showing out this week. Anyone who has been around long enough knows how cyclical these lakes are. The old girl continues to pump out 20-30 LB stringers week after week, even with the pressure. Toledo is fine too, it will be back in a few years. Even though it may sound like KVD is now an employee of the Lufkin or Jasper Chamber of Commerce, he speaks the truth. People will come, people will spend money and yes, fish will be caught. But the sun will rise and another 30 LB bag will be weighed, at least for the foreseeable future.

A lot of people are worried about Rayburn and all the pressure on it and that the fishing has fallen off on Toledo Bend some of the pros have said it Rayburn has a lot of grass right now and didn't Toledo Bend have a lot of grass a couple years ago and now it gone I think that's more of the key than anything .

Shocking they would award 100k to someone weighing in on a different set of scales than another competitor. All it takes is a minor adjustment to give him the advantage.

Before the event I read this regarding the scales. Some may find it interesting reading. Some may duplicate the components for themselves

Pretty sure they are all using the same kind of calibrated scale.
