Yes, but hard to target, don't know why. I have caught large ones trolling, 3 pounds not uncommon.

If you can read what you see
You can find good fishing year round on the clear water in south Texas.
Weekend for last we were there for a ditch pickle show down among'st the metro gringo's
After 6hrs we were 3 short of a two man limit on slabs and my metro gringo buddy won the tournament slamming ditch pickles.
We managed 9 crappie over 17" and one was almost 19 full inch's
Everything else was 14-16",all came on 1/4oz Roadrunner head 4" baits in at least 15-25 FOW

I've never targeted them but caught several on crankbaits down there. Caught the biggest one I've ever caught on a DD22 banging it off deep trees.

Just another slab that got processed and consumed the same day I dont do trophy accolades,when you target big fish species for decades it just happens I throw 4" baits from Feb-May here in Texas and find above average eaters every year for my efforts Yah gotta feed'em what they eat if you want drag strippers. . . . . . Got a pic of that almost 19 inch slab?

My grandson of 13 did real good most of the day cranking rapala and several others I rigged him Carolina and he dug up some real nice ones bouncing the short lip baits. Its a very good lake and very clear It pretty well sorts out who can fish and who can catch no doubt I've never targeted them but caught several on crankbaits down there. Caught the biggest one I've ever caught on a DD22 banging it off deep trees.

Little off topic but how is Amistad to run, as far as boating safety? I used to go out on a jet ski occasionally or we'd rent a pontoon boat when I was stationed at Laughing AFB. But, that's been a few years ago and I don't recall too much about the lake besides the Mexicans having control one year and the US the next. Mexico used to run it about dry the year they had control.

What in the cornbread hell is going on with his thread? In a nutshell... A crazy dude tells a story about some whopper crappie, he's then called out about it. It appears he was lying and then has all kinds of stories & such. Now the crazy dude is sending us PM's that are illiterate and unlegible. Any more questions? From what I've put together from the [censored], you have summed it up well. Sure didnt see any whopper crappie in those pics.

Because you cant follow a thread  The ones in the pic were from the following weekend, the one in the pic potential for lake record status on length alone. Close enough proof there are better crappie to be had if your not a smack talking bank fisherman with limited resources and abilities. Be back down there next weekend  I didn't see any crappie in any of those pics that looked even close to 19".

I think your only supposed to measure one side of the fish! If you flip it over and measure the other side and add the two together I don't think it counts!

You can find good fishing year round on the clear water in south Texas.
Weekend for last we were there for a ditch pickle show down among'st the metro gringo's
After 6hrs we were 3 short of a two man limit on slabs and my metro gringo buddy won the tournament slamming ditch pickles.
We managed 9 crappie over 17" and one was almost 19 full inch's
Everything else was 14-16",all came on 1/4oz Roadrunner head 4" baits in at least 15-25 FOW IN 6 hours you caught 9 crappie over 17", 1 over 19" and the rest up to a near limit of 14-16" crappie and all at the same time your buddy won the LMB tournament? And did not take one picture of this? Yet you took the time to take pics of a couple 12"-14" fish? You saying you do this so often it is not even picture worthy? Ummmmmmmm....... OK. You are correct I could not get even close to that considering my bank fishing status with limited resources and all.
