Do not know about Caddo but here in the San Antonio area a lot of sunfish are still on beds. Been catching a lot of nice ones in 3 to 6 feet of water holding by grass beds and drop offs. Worms work the best for me. Let us know how you do!

Giant Salvinia issue at Caddo. There are fish to be caught but the weed is getting bad. I bass fished earlier in the spring but my favorite bream spots were already matting up with that stuff. I have not bothered to go back but sure the locals are catching them. Back in the day my best luck was around the full moon in April if the weather had been warm. I know that's early but the Chinquapins are early spawning fish and don't tend to go every month like the BG's. May is a more dependable month but that darn weed has turned me off. I would assume they still bed underneath the stuff but don't know. I thought they needed sun light for the fry to hatch. Go and have fun. Beautiful place and if you do find them there are some monsters in that lake.

Caddo is definately a more magical lake than what we have here in more central Texas. I'll never forget first sight I had of all the cypress trees..a man can get lost for days in there! Regardless the outcome of how many fish we catch it's always beautiful to be out there. Last year we caught alittle over 700 redears in 3 days

That's about 200-250 there. That was just 1 day of fishing. It seemed like forever!! 4 of us cleaned them in about an hr and half or so. Wasn't too bad.

About two years ago me and my friends cleaned a combination of White Bass and Crappie a total of 167 fish. It seemed for ever. Thank God for electric knives.

The salvinia hurt us bad. What I had gathered was a new company won the bid and is only running 2boats against the fight vs salvinia and loosing. These guys are gonna have to run 7 days a week constant. We did find a few good areas holding bluegill and few red ears. Crappie bite turned on yesterday evening and was great this morning before the storms rolled in.

Was there this weekend and there was alot of current in the river from LoP release pushing the GS over to Louisiana. Seems to be effecting the river and outward on both sides to a degree. We fished nearby the river and there was little GS on Thursday and the same area had more GS on Friday as it was pushing through. Its moving constantly and changing day to day.

There was more than normal current than I thought. When we got there Thursday the GS was sporadic in our normal fishing areas by the time we left Sunday it had completely took over 2 areas we normally fish with one being old Folkes Playground.
