Just wondering because my sonar doesn't show the defined arches...It did ID fish in the top of a tree when I was in 23 feet of water. Think it was crappies.

Actually Humminbird fish ID is pretty accurate. It actually detects air bladder of the larger fish. Crappie probably want get a fish symbol unless it's rather large but a 1 # Or larger fish would

You Helix will do arches if you set it so it can.

You will get arches if you use 83 kHz. It has more coverage and the fish are within the sonar pulse long enough to create the arches.

Have to be some large crappie to qualify for a FishID symbol.

So my question is how to get my image to look like these. Is it the transducer or the way I have mine set?

And if you look at the sonar on my picture(fishID not turned on) Look at the tree...is that what it's supposed to look like?

The tree in your tri-view is behind the depth readout on the 2D view. Yes that is how it is displayed for 2D sonar.


This is a fallen tree with the base still on shore, I caught all three of those bass plus some smaller ones that did not qualify for the symbols.



Same tree a few days earlier with no symbols, so I did not stop to fish there:
