My brother just got a house on the north side of eagle lake mountain. We are going to take a 16 foot flatbottom boat out today around 11 o'clock with a lowrance hook5 fishfinder .
- any suggestions on where to fish to catch Sandbass? We were thinking about cutting across the lake and going to creeks that run up north But don't know much about sandbass fishing on a lake.

Fish 17-25 ft of water around points. IMO the middle section or south end of the lake have been best.

Thank you for the help. Do sand bass not swim up north in the creeks?

In the early spring they go north. They have moved back to the main lake mostly by now. Em will be rough today on the main lake where the sandbass are hanging out now. Be careful and please wear your pfds.

+1 On being careful in that rig. It's gonna be pretty choppy south of the island.

I make the run from the south end to Newark in a 21ft glass boat, when its windy it is a BEATING. I couldn't imagine doing it in a jon boat,

Was out in a 22 ft cc and no way would I got on that lake in a flat bottom. It was a beating in big boat.
Caught a ton of fish but not worth it.

Check for a small craft warning before you go each time.
And still do a area weather forecast check.
