I asked my wife if she would like for me to fry fish for Mother's Day, knowing she would say yes. I told her only the best for the mother of our children and nothing less than fresh crappie filets would do. Took my tube to arrowhead and got a limit. Fish were in dead willows in three feet of water. Black and chartreuse thermocline slab bugs got hammered.

I grew up fishing Arrowhead. It's good to see people catching good stringers of fish again after that drought. If the lake stays full next year will be the year the big big crappie are back.
