At the boat ramp after a full day Saturday of hybrid fishing and landing over 20 at over 20 inches plus, a old guy showed me his Crappie that he said a hybrid took 1/2 of right by the boat. I have never heard of a Hybrid taking 1/2 a crappie. He said it was on his stringer hanging in the water just barely below the surface. I guess that answers the questing do Hybrids eat Crappie This made unusual art material so I drew it. LOL Just imagine landing that big girl. We have been catching big ones and catching them on slabs at 15 feet really is a fight but after that ole Crappie fisherman saw that bet he pooped just a little. After all he was after crappie. He told me he didn't know we had fish like this at FPH.

Humm? Sounds like a fish story! Lol! Nice drawing! While crappie fishing a few days ago I witnessed big blue cat(20#) smashing crappie beds in about 1 1/2' of water. Literally head and back out of the water. It was crazy to watch. Of course the only rod's in the boat were crappie rod's with 6# line. I confess that I did try jigging for them. My jigs weren't as big as crappie though! I have a plan to return armed for blues.

Use to fish for crappie under the Rainswood bridge at Fork a lot. Several times I have had bass come up after a under sized crappie. On occasion I would let them take the crappie and the fight was on. Although it did not last long on a ultralight with 6 lb line. I always have my striper gear in the boat so sometimes I would catch a sunfish and use it for bait.

Somebody making a new hybrid, half striper half muskie? Unless they make a striper with razor teeth, I call foul.

Ah yes, the Strigar, fearsome half striper half gar. Banned in 47 states for massacring fish populations and small children swimming.

One evening, after fishing most of the day at La Mancha boat dock on Leon, I had several crappie in a fish basket in the water. After packing up my gear, I moved to untie and grab the fish basket, and spooked two BIG hybrids that were parked under that basket, eyeing my fish. I believe. :-)
Yes, Brazos is my real name.
