Taking the 4 yer old to Disney World in Orlando. I noticed they do 2 and 4 hr bass trips, artificial or bait trips on pontoons or nitros. But other than that the info seems very limited.

Anyone do one of these trips? How was it? Worth it(i imagine they are going to charge a pretty penny, like everything else there)?

I did it 4 years back. It's great for younger kids. We did live bait on a pontoon. Shiners over fish feeders and the kids had plenty of action. It is not a trip I would recommend for experienced anglers.

In June we are taking our 5th trip to Disney and we stay at Port Orleans riverside. Its really hard to see all that fishy looking water and not be able to cast a line in it.

I did the Disney guide trip for 2 hours in the afternoon which wasn't the peak time to go but I would choose Toho for sure instead. Caught bass at Disney but the chance at big ones possibly over 10lbs are better at Toho. Iv'e used the same guide numerous times and have caught alot of big bass, some over 10.

I was on a business trip out there a few years ago and the company gave us one afternoon to do something fun. My fishing buddy and I did a 4 hour trip on a Nitro bass boat. Good time, nothing special though. Would I do it again? Only if was not on my dime.

Lots of other times I have been in Orlando for business trips and I always carry a collapsable rod/reel combo and a few lures to throw. There are ponds, canals, etc. literally everywhere. An alternative to the Disney trip would be to just drive to a local pond somewhere and do some fishing. Just be careful as there are alligators, snakes, etc. If you can find one near a hotel (off disney property), just ask the manager if you can fish. I have never had one say no to me.

Took my son a few years ago. He was 4. The guide was terrific, did a really nice job putting us on fish. At the end of the trip my son said - Dad, I caught 21 and you caught zero. Priceless.

I did it. It was crazy expensive. Fishing live bait out of a pontoon boat. I wasn't impressed but my daughter had a good time and that's all that matters but I think we have more fun on Fayette for hella cheaper.

Next time I'll do Toho.

My wife has a conference at Disney in June and I'm going along to play. I've booked a guide for the Harris Chain for early in the week and I'm looking for one for Toho at the end of the week. The Harris Chain is only about 40 minutes from Disney, so you might want to look into it as an option.

I stayed at the Contemporary a few years back. It is the hotel with the monorail that runs thru the lobby. There is a large lake there and they offered "guided bass fishing trips" for 2 or 4 hours. We fished the afternoon the first day with one of their "guides".

He later told us he was one the the skiboat drivers for their waterski show but a great kid. He took us to an offshore grassbed where we commenced to wrecking the fish on Flukes. The biggest was about 4# but we probably caught 40 fish in two hours.

The next morning we went back out at daylight with the same guy and started killing them on Pop R's. Again we had 40 fish in the first two hours of the morning. I think it was $150 for two hours but I thought it was well worth it.

Iv'e used him several times while on vacation. If he's booked he normally has guys that work under him.

Done it several times, 5 times, and always had fun. My son fished with shiners and I used soft plastics. Yes, it's expensive, but nobody ever said anything about Disney was cheap. Luckily I'm a Disney Vacation Club member so I get the discount rate.
