Looking for some feedback from the bigger guys in the kayak world. I am 260lbs and was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on how well that will pan out on an outback in the ocean. Would it be tippy with my weight or would it still feel stable?

Shouldn't be tippy at all. The Outback is an extremely stable boat.

I had a Outback when I was 250. I'm 6-2" and it was very stable. I couldn't stand in it and comfortably fish, but sitting down it was great.

What Shaun said. I'm 250 and the Outback is a very stable sitting kayak. I've had mine in some scary situations before but never felt unstable. A lot of guys like them for BTB fishing too. I know a couple that went from PA's to Outbacks for BTB.

I was up around 270 when I got my Outback. Figured with the two-third's of capacity rule of thumb, I would only be able to take one fishing rod and fish naked. Didn't nobody want to see that. So I lost some weight so I could take more gear and be able to wear clothes. But really haven't had any problems with stability in spite of my general lack of stability.

I was up to 280 last summer (at about 6-1)and fished on it multiple times in rough water including BTB. I'm usually loaded up with at least 3 rods, an anchor, four or five of the plano waterproof boxes and a small soft sided cooler for drinks. I've never had any stability issues. I did flip it in the surf coming back in to shore last summer but that was a case of user error. It had nothing to do with the kayak. I highly recommend the Outback. The only problem is that it doesn't get used frequently enough.

I'm a big guy. Outback super stable for BTB. I have been in big swells catching big fish and never had a problem.

I am 250 and have fished an Outback for 2 years but not BTB. To me safety is a big issue and I want to be able to get up in my yak if I turtle. I bought a paddle float, and learned out to loop a line from one side of the kayak to the other to make a stable foot step to get back in. I practiced in my swimming pool until I had confidence in my ability to get back in. Look at YouTube videos.
