When do you use each on a T-Rig? I love fishing craws in the spring, and always have a hard time knowing when to switch to a worm.

They will eat craws year around, same with worms.

I usually Texas rig a Rage Craw or a baby brush hog. But today I pulled out a plain old worm with a curly tail and they bit it also. I'm starting to think that the actual type of soft plastic doesn't matter as much as whether it's one with lots of action and appendages versus something more finesse.

They'll eat both year round but I really prefer a worm during the hot Summer months.

The warmer it gets the more I go to the worm and the longer the worm - don't be afraid to throw those 9" and 10" worms

Oh yeah, nice long worm in the summer is my favorite when I can't get them on moving baits.

Personally I will use a baby brush hog or 7" worm as my standard....this past weekend they weren't getting the whole bait in their mouths so I dropped down to a speed craw....hook up ratio went WAY up. I didn't change hooks or weights....just the bait.....There's a place and time for all baits...fishing is figuring out which bait for which time!!!

For pitching at specific targets, I like the more compact craw or creature bait. For dragging over larger areas and especially fishing deep, I like the worm. Give that tail a chance to work it's magic.

I'll throw a craw or "creature" bait 99 times to each time I'd use a worm. A bass EATS craws and bait fish as a natural food source. A worm is not a naturally occurring food source for a bass. In fact, I'd think 99.9% of bass will never, in their life span, ever eat a real living worm without an anglers help.
A worm is designed to mimic a bait fish feeding on bottom....I think I can imagine a fluke as being a better bait fish imitation.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.
