 Tilt and Trim problem

I am having trouble with my tilt and trim on my Mercury Thunderbolt 800. The motor when switch is pressed up or down it will sound like it is working but does nothing. Do not see any leaks filled the reservoir. The motor and reservoir are up under the back deck and are not very accessible. Any thoughts will help.

Make sure the release is not activated then add some 30 weight motor oil at the fill plug on top of the pump unit.

If you have not messed with it, I doubt the release is turned but it is a knurled nob coming out of the side of the pump. I had the same issue and it turned out to be the release. I took quite a bit to break it free, but now the tilt and trim works great.
