Filmed this video about the middle of April. Due to the bad storm in Canton I m now just getting this video out. Catching bass on frogs and Jigs at Purtis Creek! Enjoy!

wow, what happened to he crystal clear water and hydrilla!? haven't been there in 20 years but dang! did they kill off the grass?
Go home at the end of your shift, no matter the cost!

Man they destroyed that lake with grass carp. This was our first time to fished it. Everyone we talked to said it's used to have a lot of good grass an super good fishing. Most folks at the boat ramp said they had only caught 1-3 bass. We felt very fortunate with what we ended up with for sure!

Nice video! Purtis Creek is one of the best examples of government mismanagement ever. You can always argue(for and against) about controlling(or eradicating) hydrilla on multi-use lakes Conroe, Austin, Cedar Creek....but Purtis Creek was built solely for recreation with an emphasis on trophy bass fishing being the priority. No wakeboard boats, jet skies, property owners.....just fishing. Really a crime that TPWD consciously turned it into the mudhole it has become. OK, rant over. Did I mention nice video? :-)

My wife and I have never been there before so we were pretty excited to be able to fish without the "water ticks" ( jet skis & ski boats) bothering us! And we got there and the water clarity was like chocolate milk! I have head great things about the place, but it was very tough fishing conditions. Many folks were coming in saying they weren't catch but 1-3 bass. All day long. Thanks for watching!

Went to purtis today and caught about 15 bass on minnows off the pier. Today I was looking for crappie lol

Disappointed to hear this about Purtis.
I am trying to decide where to fish Saturday, and this was the leader in the club house.
