Heading to Eagle Mountain for the first time tomorrow - can anyone give me a heads up what kind of/color the bait fish are there?

Also, I see on TPWD website says the water is clear/stained - this would lend itself more towards natural colors (watermelon or baby bass), right?

Thanks!

This spinner bait on the RIGHT has been killing them in several of our lakes around, right in the middle of the shad. It is a contrasting color more like a baby carp than shad.

Thanks for the response, guys!

@ Donald - I have a spinner like the one on the left but not a trailer like that. Do these trailers make a big difference?

Yes they do. Zoom makes this double tail trailer. Dipping dye will do whatever you need to a white trailer. All my rebuilt baits that I do for customers get this twin straight leg trailer. All my new spinners come with the Stanley Pro Trailer which is by far superior for catching big fish.

Donald is absolutely correct as I can personally attest to. The spinnerbaits in the pic above are two of the baits he customized for me and the bait on the right has been out performing any other spinnerbait we've fished about 5-1. That bait put all of my limit together last week. That spinnerbait is absolutely amazing and I'd recommend Donald Harper custom spinnerbaits over any other!
