Heading out to Florida here soon and I'm definitely looking to try and get on some peacock bass. Does anyone know of good peacock bass guides out that way?

I don't have a specific guide but you will need to be in the Miami area to catch Peacock Bass. You can use Google and YouTube to find a Peacock Bass Miami Guide. It is a trip I would love to make.

I went out with Frank Carbone about 10 years ago. We fished out of a nice bass boat. Son caught a 5lb largemouth, caught about 20 peacocks (all about 2lbs if I remember right), and I caught a small tarpon. Really fun trip. I was just in Miami a few days coming back from a tarpon fishing trip in the keys and drove right by where Frank took us; you can fish from the bank there around the airport but he burns 200 yds to the next spot catch some and move on so it would be worth a day to learn the rope and the baits etc

Lived down there for 25 years, lots of peacocks from Miami to north of Ft.Lauderdale. If your staying nearer Ft.Lauderdale/Hollywood area highly recommend eating at a couple of places:

Tom Jenkins BBQ... the best in south Florida

Aruba Beach Cafe... The best fishing pier in south Florida is right next to it.

other things to do in the area:

If you are staying in Miami and want to try something different:

If you are driving down the keys and want to snorkel, Sombrero reef is the best!

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I fished for peacocks with Capt. Patrick Smith of Swamp to Sea Guide service last year and had a great time.

I'll be in the Miami area so I'm definitely going to check these guides out. I plan on checking out some of the canals on my own for some bank fishing to....shouldn't be to hard to get on some fish in Florida

bank fishing will be tough, most of the canals are between private property, i think a couple are on the edges of parks.
