I'm meeting my nephew at Fairfield this weekend. I have never been there before and I just wanted to know if there are any areas that I shouldn't run. I don't like running anywhere I'm not familiar with. I sure as heck don't want to have to buy a new lower unit. I appreciate any help.

Have a Blessed Day,
Mike

Lower end, down toward the dam is pretty much open, just go wide off the points. Upper end, where you see stumps, be very careful. I don't go in there, I like my lower unit also. Fish the reeds with a baby brush hog, you should get bit. Early and late the top water is pretty good also.

Mac,
Thanks for the info. I really enjoy fishing lakes I have never fished before. I just hope the wind doesn't blow us off the lake.

Supposed to be light winds Saturday and not too bad at all Sunday. Have fun! Fairfield is a great lake!

Fished there for the first time during Spring Break and had a blast! Caught lots of bass in the reeds on white spinnerbaits, 5" paddletails, and wacky rigged senkos. The bite was strongest on wind-blown main lake points.

nxt is right, but this is a little confusing. The dam is in the NE corner of the lake, so upper end is wide open, lower end where it forks has stumps.

Actually the "upper end" of a lake is the end where the water flows into said body of water and the "lower end" is where water flows out of (the spillway or dam) of said body of water.

The logic is really quite simple, water flows "down hill", that being said in most lakes the "lower end" will always be the dam end of the lake.

North end clear. Two creeks on the south end have stumps.
