I've been waiting on these for about a month and a half. So looking forward to just rolling on and off the water without the fuss of boatramps.

What kayak are you using these for? Please post a candid review after you've used them. One of my least favorite parts of kayaking is preparing to go home. I beach my Slayer Propel 13 and make a couple of trips to/from my truck to put the heavier stuff away before I try to lift it onto my C-Tug. It's not that hard but I'm always looking for ways to make the process easier. Thanks.

Will do. I put the rig on today. I'm heading out after work tomorrow and/or Saturday and then again Sunday. I'll try to post something then with some pics. I have a Hobie PA 14.

I trailer mine because I just have a car. With all the [censored] I have on it, it's pretty heavy, too heavy for this old guy. This restricts where I can go to launch and fish. Not anymore though. Last Saturday I had to wait for about 10 boats before I could get my trailer down to the ramp. With these all I'll have to do is roll strait to my vehicle. Should be able to avoid a lot of ramp fees too.

Bryan,

I have the Native version, made by Boonedox, on order.

And, with a PA 14 it is certainly about weight and launching opportunities. For me, most of us and you, too, we recognize the additional speed difference from: loading at home, unloading and onto the water, back off the water, and unloading back at home.

So, even with a relatively light Propel 10 that I can carry down by hand in many places, it's mainly about time for me.

As it is, and I go out light, most of us have to strip our kayaks down to hand carry them. Then, if one has a good cart, it often requires tipping a kayak over to get the wheels in place.

I STILL think the big boys like Hobie, Native, WS, Jackson and others are missing out on increasing their market shares and penetration by not molding in receptacles for similar cart/axle contraptions. It would be so easy to design something that would render after-market carts, even Landing Gears, unnecessary.

Oh well! They seem to cling to the $100 or so of additional profit selling these things missing out on the larger pay off.

Brad

Ok, I have used them three times now, which is not enough to give a fair and decent review. I can tell you this; a heavy kayak laden with gear is still heavy on wheels. If I have a boat ramp available where I want to fish (since I have a trailer) I will probably use that. They don't roll to well in mud or sand. Really not at all. smile Two of the times I was at a boat ramp, both with a lot of incline. Pulling that thing back up the ramp after fishing all day was rough for this old guy. The other time I rolled it across about 70 yards of field to put in by the damn on LL. I ended up catching my biggest crappie ever, 15.25". No scale, no weight. If there is a place I want to fish and there is no incline, no mud, or no sand I wouldn't hesitate to use them. I hope this it making sense. I'm so tired.
