Was a nice day today so I went out to see how fishing is since the Sunday storm. Headed out at 1:45PM, and the 1st place I checked was the A-Frame. Marked a lot of fish there and ended up catching 5 hybrids and 17 big white bass in 14 to 17 fow on the SE edge of the point. Next went to Key Ranch Drop-off, where I ran into Bruce from Dallas. He was there also fishing for whites. We found a good concentration on the slope in 15 to 18 fow and sat there and caught a bunch including several 15 to 16.5 inch fish. Bruce said he was a regular viewer of TFF and had been using Mepps spinners for some time. We both caught our fish there on #4 Mepps.

After Bruce left for his trip back to Dallas, I found good concentrations of fish at Key Ranch North, Old Pond Dam and Merimac Point. I ended up with 80 fish: 65 whites, 5 hybrids, 5 cats and 5 keeper yellow bass.

To top the day off, the wife and I were sitting on the back porch when we saw fish breaking the water between our bulkhead and the boathouse. We grabbed our rods and caught about 30 between 7:45 and 8:25 PM - they kept surfacing in that same area til dark. Good way to end a day I'd say!

the A-Frame, Key Ranch Drop-off, Key Ranch North, Old Pond Dam and Merimac Point. Where are these spots located? Would love to take the wife out and put her on some fish?

Took my sister Beverly and her granddaughter Ellie out yesterday from 2PM to 5:30PM. The wind was howling 20 to 25 mph from the north, but my dock is protected from the north wind. So, we fished close to shore along the north side of the Clear Creek fork of the lake. I still had to use 35 lbs of anchor and let out a lot of rope to hold my deck boat in place.

We found fish at Saint Annes Point East and 60 Acre Hump and ended up with 114: 100 whites, 7 short hybrids, 5 keeper yellow bass and 2 cats. We left still catching fish. We caught them on Mepps #3 and #4. Fish were in 14 to 15 fow at Saint Annes Point and in 18 to 19 fow at 60 Acre Hump.

Yes you can join us anytime, DC. Got your PM. I replied via text. It will be interesting to fish with two hard core Aggies. Gene is the king of tail spinners also. I like to witness a fun catching duel between you two sandbass tournament champs grin

The last couple of days I have been catching fish on deep (27 to 28 fow) humps and on the sides/slopes of main lake points in 18 to 19 fow. I caught fish at the east end of Long Ridge, 3-Jug Hump and Merimac Point. I saw fish but didn't stop to catch at Pole Dance Point and Pitts Point. Still using #4 Mepps. As usual in structure fishing for white bass, the fish are down on the bottom. Oh, at Merimac Point today while fishing for whites, I caught a 30 inch long buffalo which I estimate was 25 lb.

Took neighbor Patrick and his friend Julian out this morning from 9AM to noon. They wanted a limit of white bass and anything else for a fish fry. I took them straight to Long Ridge, where I had found them the last two days. We had to search around for them there and found them on the south edge of the ridge in 27 to 31 fow. Spent almost all of our time there and ended up with 91: 76 whites, 2 hybrids, 9 short hybrids, and 4 cats. We kept 75 whites and the 2 hybrids to clean. We all used #4 Mepps. Seventy-five percent of the whites were 13 to 16 inches long. Here are some pics:

Thanks again Mr. Christian for the report. I went out Sunday morning and tried several spots around the spillway area with nothing to show but 2 fish. Decided to head in and stopped at a hump I happen to run across between there and the ramp and ended up with 43 nice white bass. All on #4 Mepps.
