I saw the weirdest thing while fishing 1:30pm on Sunday May 7th just south of Jordan Park. I saw a guy in a procraft fish n ski with a Yamaha on the back scouring the banks.
He was parking his boat on the north side of the creek and walking around looking for something.
He would move his boat and continue looking for something on the banks. He would do this for several different places and parts of the creek area.
Any ideas as to what he was looking for?
This went on for a good while before he finally left the area.

Drugs?
Driftwood?

What could it be?

If it were Texoma or Bridgeport I'd say fossils. Actually there are fossils around Ray Roberts too but you really should not collect them on State Park land. I found one by accident last year that was pretty cool. I did the right thing and left it alone untouched and contacted the Park Rangers and it ended up being of scientific value. It's possible too a geologist or someone on that wavelength studying the sediment as well?

He could also be looking for lures. I used to find fairly new ones all the time walking the banks.

Might have been looking for snakes? Fishing for Crappie at a Marina last weekend end, we watched a guy walking the rocks looking for snakes. He whomped in the head and skinned them on the spot. The big knife he was yielding came from a holster covered in a copperhead skin, so I am guessing, he was more interested in the snakes than the crappie.

Possibly something blew out of his boat and was hopeful it drifted up on to the banks? Like a lucky hat?

My kids hunt fossils at the Texoma dam. They come back with their own buckets full. Every year we trade them in at the Dallas Zoo and they are rewarded with "points" that lead to a monetary value so they can buy something in the store.

I've stopped and asked before on Buchanan and Fork, both times the lakes were real low, both times arrowheads.

Lost a rod when the lake was up?

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.
