The last big rain put 7+ extra FOW in Belton and it's now about normal. The gates were open part of the time the water was rising and some of that muddy water got pulled way down the lake. Water looking good now and the fish were cooperating. The chart slab bug was doing the damage today. Tried several baits, some hand ties and all got bit but not like the chat slab bug did. I think that slow fall and movement was what they wanted this morning. Fish were on BPs at various depths. No big fish today, just some solid 11-12.5" eaters. Ended with 38 keeps and about doz dinks. All fish released today.

Could you please, next time, raise the camera a bit so I can see and identify the shoreline?

Out again today. Same pattern except more dinks. Had a limit at 8:40.
I also tried an ice shad on 1/16 head and that worked well also. Would start with the chart slab bug and when things slowed, drop the ice shad and catch a few more. Need to fish the piles carefully. Fish were concentrated in small areas of some piles. The side of the pile closest to the bank usually held fish. There's still shad spawning on the banks early. If you're looking for some white bass or blue cat action, look for the birds standing on the bank. fish
