Well, we got back to the resort early. Jeremias emailed me a couple of days ago and said that Saturday would be the better weather day. But a couple that was going with us didn't want to be worn out on Saturday and then have to go home to their two young children on Sunday. At that point I figured that this would not be one of my most memorable trips. I was WRONG!

The weather was as bad as we expected. There were a few times that we would be sitting on top of a wave and still unable to see the horizon. Capt Jeremias was great! Very knowledgeable and great captain. The fishing wasn't great. I had us set up to do a combined jigging/popping trip but the weather only allowed us to troll. We trolled out for about 1 1/2 hours then made the decision to head back. We only caught two cudas.

Van pulled in the first one. He was actually wanting to target cudas. Not sure why. Not sure I want to ask. But because I appreciate his enthusiasm I nominate him Capt Cuda 2.0 (He's not on the TFF and the title will probably never be used again).

The bigger cuda was caught by Kilder who has never been offshore before. I nominate him Capt Cuda 3.0 (See the note in parentheses above).

The highlight of the trip didn't even get a picture. About 5 minutes outside of the marina, we came across a 6.5 foot long leatherback sea turtle. It gave us just enough time to get cameras/phones out before it disappeared. I've seen them on the discovery channel and National Geographic but I never imagined that I would come across one in the wild. This was not just the highlight of the fishing trip. It was the highlight of my entire vacation.

Please allow us a week to get back to the states and consult our attorneys.
