In early June, I am driving with the wife and our three 16-year old high school anglers to Branson from Denton. We all want to fish for black bass on Table Rock and Bulls Shoals instead of going to the shows.
Options:
A. Bring our 19-ft 1999 Tracker (90 hp)
B. Rent a pontoon boat on each lake - 8 hours for $300
C. Hire a guide (bass boat) on each lake - 6 hours for $550 or 8 hours for $625
Opinions?

I'm thinking 5 adult size people is a load for most Trackers. If you know the lakes and areas you plan to fish rent a boat. You'll have more options and fishing time. If you don't know it so well hire a guide. Or maybe hire one the first day to get an idea of where and what the fish are doing to shorten the odds for the remainder of the trip.

If you can afford it, I would say "C"! Would make a trip of a lifetime and one to remember... worry free trip as well.

Increase your odds of some good fish catching and learning the lake with a guide, at least the first day or two, or a day on each of the lakes you mentioned. Then you can DIY if you like. Either way you do it, have a great trip!

This boils down to how many days are you going to fish? If you are going to just fish one day, rent a pontoon. A pontoon will be big enough for all of you at once. If you ae going to fish several days, unless you have the money to pay for a boat rental every day, then bring your boat. Then decide if you want to split up those 5 people into two fishing trips. Or you could rent a Tracker to put some of your people in, take your own boat and go all at the same time.
Bring your Ned rig!
