I was skeptical. That's why I asked the fishing community. It wasn't personal. I just was happy to report my personal experience.

I wear mostly simms and huk sun shirts. Going to start getting the ones with the higher collar, my sun gaiters often leave a gap at the neck that gets toasted.

How are the simms solarflex shirts? excellent. I try and find em on clearance. Simms gear is pricey, but worth the bucks for sure. I like their sungloves, and their sun gaiters as well.

SIMMS Solarflex is my preference. They have a high collar as mentioned above and you can get them on sale on their website. Used to wear the Magellan ones as well because of the collar, but the SIMMS are lighter weight and more breathable. HUK collars are too wide for me.

Just a suggestion on these dry fit shirts, read the washing instructions well... I learned a long time ago, after washing just let them air dry. Using drier sheets will affect them.

I have 4-5 brands. Some I use at the coast where I don't care how dirty they get with stains, blood, etc. Others like huk, simms and Columbia I use bass fishing. Best advice is try different brands. They do fit different and feel different.

I've been using my Huk hoodie. I don't really use the hood much because of the boonie hat that I bought but have been pretty impressed with the shirt. All the netting material they use really lets air circulate if there is any breeze or when driving and causes no issue in the sun. I've been fishing all day through the heat so it's been tested more than my old shirt. I paid around $60 for it and think for what I get out of it I'll just bite the bullet and get a couple more. I can be pretty cheap at times but sometimes it is worth it to pay a little more.

Huk doesn't make it real clear on the military discount. How do you get it?
