Had an older golfing buddy that lost the top of both ears..

I buy every dri-fit shirt in my size that i find on clearance. I use them for everything. I was in my attic the other day for about 4 hours and didn't have any clue how much i was sweating until i took it off and it weighed about 6 lbs!

The HUK shirts are nice but pricey, good gifts from signifiant others.

Now I do think the buffs make me hotter and are uncomfortable. I always wear one when I am outside in sun, and have for years and still have not got use to them.

Dad lost lots of skin to the old basal cells. Hope its not genetic in any way.

Buy the "on sale" stuff from Magellan, Salt Life, whatever.....paying triple for Huk or Columbia is just bad business.
They buy their fabrics from the same Indonesian factories.....covering skin is the best protection and the "dry fit" fabrics are all the same.

I'm normally not a name brand snob but the Magellan shirts I have tried seemed thinner and didn't fit right.

Academy will have them from time to time, but Basspro and Cabela's always have them in stock in various different brands.

The guidewear gloves at Cabela's are nice.

I like short sleeve Columbia Omni freeze shirts but I wear sun sleeves too. You can get the sleeves for about $3-4. Then the Cabelas Balaclava pulled over a visor rather than a hat is cooler. I always wear the fingerless gloves too.

I have the Columbia and Magellan long sleeve shirts and they do a great job at keeping you cooler in the hot summer. I would suggest getting them in a size larger than you normally wear because now the oversize shirt will catch more of a breeze and do even a better job at keeping you cool. Neck wraps and gloves are awesome also keeping you cooler and they help avoid skin cancer.

I agree. Get the Magellans and use the savings to buy more tackle. Double win.

You can constantly find HUK and UA shirts at a great price. Just got to keep your eyes open.

Why would you be shocked about being cooler wearing that type of long sleeve shirt? Everyone that answered your question told you that these type of shirts keep you cooler. Did you think everyone was making that up? Did you not believe us?
