Well, had my first time being dumped this morning getting into my new Propel 10. While still in the boat shed. Too many lessons learned to list. No fishing this morning after finally figuring how to get out of the water and on to the dock, I have to go get a new phone.

If you don't turtle you don't know your limits. You also don't know how much a new phone cost . At least you didn't get caught on camera doing it.

That is a squatty-looking kayak which would seem somewhat hard to turtle. Were you stepping down into it from a higher level and not centered? I do not like to get into a kayak from a pier, much prefer getting in at the bank and leading with my butt.

That's why I got the Galaxy S7 active. It's water proof.

Back from Houston getting a new phone and some needed accessories for the Propel. Correct, I was stepping down from the dock walkway in the boat shed. Had a hanging rope from the rafter (just like when getting into the Radar 115). The Propel slid out from under me 3 times and the 3rd time I was dunked. Will make changes tomorrow to how I get into it By the way the new phone is submirsible (Samsung S8). Got unlimited data and calls at a lower rate than I had before.

There are two kinds of kayakers. Those that have turtled and those that are going to turtle. Glad you bounced back quickly.

I would totally invest in some waterproof sealing cases from Amazon!

These are awesome and it slides right into the pocket on my PFD. Leave some room for air and they float too! ;D

Zip Lock bags will float a phone,wallet and keys just fine
Those water proof cases really suck,hard to hear and hard to be heard when your phone is sealed off like that.
