Has anyone installed the Air Lift kit on their truck? I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 that is about a month old and when the boat is hitched up to it or I'm carrying a heavy load in the bed the rear sags. I'm looking at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit. I'm wondering if there are any negatives to installing this kit?

I put a pair of Firestones on a '05 Dodge 2500. Took about 1.5 hours. Pretty simple. Leave a couple lbs of air in them when you deflate. There were no negatives.

I installed air shocks on a GMC 1/2 ton that I pulled a small fifth wheel trailer with and would air them up till the bed was level. I always let the air off when no load. Worked great!

Not sure about the airlifts, but you can find kits with no drill/modification installation, that is what I would go with.

I had Firestone bags and the airlift remote controller installed on my Tundra. It makes a big difference pulling my tandem boat trailer on the highway. No negatives whatsoever.

The helper bags are all pretty straight forward and easy to install

When I'm not hauling a heavy load and I don't need the bags pumped up do I need to keep a minimum pressure in the bags or can I completely air them down?

Need to keep a minimum pressure - usually around 5-10 psi.

I keep 5 psi in mine, 10 makes for a rougher ride without towing.

I'm looking at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit. I'm wondering if there are any negatives to installing this kit? When you say "sags", how far down is the rear bumper moving? IE measure distance from bottom of bumper to ground right before you hook up the boat, then hitch up boat and measure again. subtract the first from the second to determine "squat". BTW, what size/type of boat are you towing?
