I went camping with friends and family at the creek this weekend and couldn't wait for fishing with the kids. Our campsite was on a point with easy access to the water , lots of area to bank fish and I usually wake up before dawn for fishing with just my self. bass were busting on the top but I just couldn't find what they wanted and I forgot to bring worms so I ended up with nothing. Kids got up later and were using hotdogs until I went and got some worms which was the ticket and it kept the kids busy with only 2 pan sized fish but a lot of smaller ones so I wrapped the two in foil and put them on the fire, and served them to the kids which they loved. About midnight on Saturday the storms blew through the camp grounds leveling the kids tent and my friends tent making them all come into my pop up camper for the night. There was no place for me to sit let alone laydown and sleep so I went to my truck and slept for a hour or two then got up and started cleaning up. Nothing destroyed just knocked over, no injuries, and no dry clothes for the kids so they raided all my shirts something to wear in the morning 50 somethingish degrees. 6 parents, 4 teenagers, 5 children all jammed into a small camper and we still had a good time but I am extremely tired today. There is potential for real good fishing in the area so I try better next time.

Now that ya'll have weathered the storm you'll all have a good story to tell. Sometimes situations like that wind up being the best memories, even if we were miserable for a while.

It was definitely an adventure for the night and It's taking a few days to recover from lack of sleep. The bluegills being caught were very healthy looking, not fat but solid fish. There was a lot of bank area for fishing and even a lighted pier but we never made it and just fished in about a 100 ft piece of bank.

Fished Coletto Creek a long time ago and caught some very nice Bass. I can remember there were a lot of stick-ups and timber there.
