Will be in Possum Kingdom State Park next week 5-1... like to snag a few LM from the bank or the kayak. Never fished PK. Any tips or comments appreciated.

Good coves on the north end of the park. Use a wacky watermelon red senko and a top water like a pop r in the morning.

Water is extremely clear right now. I have never seen the water in PK this clear before. I was in a cove down by the dam and my depth finder read 15 feet and I could count every pebble on the bottom. Last time I saw water like that I was fishing Beaver Lake in Arkansas.

Better get some fluorocarbon line.

Sand Bass fishing is insane right now. I could about 30 last evening right before dark on a white jig.

Sandies can be especially fun from the kayak. Clean clear water....better check my line.

Due north of the ramp at PKSP is Possum Hollow restaurant and the cove to the east is Fox Hollow. Fish the point there at the restaurant and the boat docks up in Fox Hollow. Easy paddle and they should hold some fish.

If you go at night, fish the boat docks with lights.

Was up at PK last week in my kayaks and pretty much everything we threw caught fish... texas rigged senkos ( caught a 5.68), green pumpkin finesse jigs, top waters (poppers and walking baits) , and weightless flukes. Caught a lot of the fish in 3-6 ft of water around flooded salt cedars but noticed I caught the two biggest of the trip on isolated boulders right off of the shore in probably 5-8 feet of water

Didn't have as much luck as some, caught a couple of Sandies from the bank on swimbaits. Locations were limited from the kayak due to the wind. Left a day early as the front moved in. Will start looking for a different lake where we can camp and fish from the kayak, maybe catch some fish. Thanks for the helpful comments.

You need to try Inks Lake SP. Beautiful park and an awesome lake to fish out of a yak.
