The wind had switched and there were swells travelling different directions. We dang near nosed her once and we were being very cautious and conservative. We figured out real quick that we would trailer to the weigh in on Sunday. Brutal on the main lake!! We trailered to the 9-10am weigh in on Sunday and the new leader came in with the 8.59 or whatever which bumped my partner to 2nd with the 6.19. He ended up 3rd overall and deserved every bit of it! He went across the lake on Sunday to make that weigh-in and he was wet from head to toe. No way I would have done it but, he said he's fished that tourney for 25 years and had been waiting for that day for a long time. First thing he wanted to do was call his son and tell him the news. He almost teared up talking to him on the phone. Pretty neat deal. First time I'd ever been to Rayburn being from the Panhandle and all. HUGE lake and I found out quick that you dang sure better know what you're doing on that lake when the wind starts blowing. She gets angry real quick and it really doesn't take much wind to get nasty. Fun time I'll never forget and I will be back for sure.

Congrats. Weighed in a 4.01 and a 3.98 closest I came to money

I had a shad spawn place that was LOADED with fish that size. Id pull up and within 10 casts would have around 20 pounds all 3 days. I really figured I'd get 1 bigger bite out of there but it just never happened. Man I wish I could find that place on a regular tournament day.

Shows how good the lake is from the last 3 years of high water and great spawns. The lake is packed with 2-4lbers
