CALLING ALL ANGLERS TO HELP ME SAVE BASS AT MY MOST PRIZED/SECRET HONEY HOLE!

Fritz Park in Irving has been a long time secret of mine. It has one of the better parts of Delaware Creek running through it and at one time held a gorgeous pond. Now this pond may not be one of the best ponds but at one time held some good sized bass. Right now it is being drained like it is annually. When they drain it, they do not remove the fish. The water keeps getting lower and lower and when the fishes die, they are bird food or picked out by the City of Irving. Well, I'm tired of letting these bass and bluegill get murdured. The waters can get up to 8-10 feet deep in the middle but they always pull the pump/fountain out and let the water evaporate and get stagnant. There's little bass in there right now. I've counted at least 10 and also a bunch of bluegill and some catfish but I really don't care for.
With all that being said, the creek is a place these bass have thrived and will continue to thrive. It's taken a lot for me to release the whereabouts of my favorite and prized honey hole but I can't do this all on my own with all the algae, hydrilla, and moss that cakes a lure in every cast no matter what you got on it. Some bass are also very hungry, others extremely finicky. The bluegill and sunfish are always hungry. My mission is to have a few anglers come out, help me catch every last fish in that pond and relocate them to the creek that the pond used to spill in to. I've found a couple potential spots where there's fewer bass than normal so these bass won't be hunted down by bigger fish and coincidentally loaded with bluegill and sunfish due to only a couple bass being there. The bluegill from the pond I want to move a few with the bass but others to spots with bigger bass and spots with a higher quantity bass all in the creek in the park. Anyone interested just comment and I will message you my number and we can all come up with a date and time to all get together.
Thanks for reading and taking time, I really hope to see some caring anglers and happy bass.

Sorry to hear about your your spot getting drained. Might be able to catch a bunch with a fly rod to get them out. I can't help you as I live on the other side of the metro. But I hope someone helps you on your mission to save those fish. Good luck!

The pond is only a piece. I don't eat fish and id never eat a bass. I'll turn the pond into a giant cemetery.

This is the pond that Jimmy is talking about:

There is a good population of fish, worth saving.

Most that you try to relocate will probably end up dieing from shock. You also have no idea what parasites they may have that you introduce into a new pond.

The creek is right down the rocks and I have relocated a few before that have been in there. The whole creek isn't that clean in the first place though because it's a creek in a park. Not very many people use trash cans in south irving. I'd say the water is dirtier in there than in the pond. The pond water is filtered creek water anyways

You might consider asking the city for permission to seine it. You'd need to talk to a TPWD Warden also and explain your case and your intentions. There is a possibility they would go along with it. If the creek is nearby and you had say just 4 people you could have two people using the net and two people transporting them to the creek in ice chest or something like that. I don't think you would kill many. You would for sure save many! I applaud you for your concern. It shows you have a heart. wish my crippled up arse could help. but not at this time.

I live right down the street and me and brother have fished Fritz often for the last couple of years. We would love to help in any way! Also was curious if anyone knows how low the Delaware creek has gotten in general? We've been fishing the section between the bridge on Oakdale and bridge on Nursery. Water is getting lower lower and there is a decent amount of bass in there with a few big lurkers. Haven't fished the pond or any of the parts of creek closer to the park but would love to help out wherever is needed and we live close so should be able to help whenever.

Three seems to be only bluegill in that pond now. Big, hungry ones.
