they create a disturbance on the water surface like fish schooling that draws stipers sand bass an hybrids.

not to knock a man trying to make some money....but...why can't I just raise my TM up, until, it's just barely in the water....wouldn't this accomplish the same thing??

it has a thicker lip so its a louder pop, like a splash, you couldn't make your TM prop go slow enough to make a splash without running it at high speed and it just sounding anything like a splash

this sure beats standing on the side of your boat an beating the water with a short rod.

Hook'em79- What the others described is correct. For whatever reason it stimulates the fish to feed. Without having a pitched face it doesn't drag the boat around, the cupped face does create a pop like surface feeding whites, hybrids or stripers, when depth and rotation speed is set correctly.

Andrew Taylor- Working on another prototype that has ice cream scoop shaped ends on it. I'm thinking it will create a louder pop, but also worry about tearing up motor seals and bearings with the larger resistance. I purposely scaled this one down thinking the smaller reach would be kinder to shafts, seals and bearings. The cupped face makes a pretty good pop as is, I have been playing with this design for about a year now. Willing to build you a mega prop if you wish!

Redskeeter190- You can do that, but the pop sound will not be the same, it will also still move your boat in circles or back or forward as it still pushes water. 80 lb thrust half submerged probably gives 40 lb thrust or so, also with the sealed motors, I'd guess you could have heat issues if you run without being 60-70% or more submerged. Years ago I did experience what I'll call an "impulse strike" when I lifted my trolling motor while it was still running, and a fish almost took my rod out of my hand, since then have made a few great winter time trips. Many guides use these type splasher props, Lake Livingston Adventures(Richardson brothers), Fishing Addiction(Jeff), and from his posts, I'd bet Andrew Taylor does too.Look at the winter time deadsticking posts these guys put on here(whites hybrid forum). Last January I fished with Michael Richardson on Conroe, I'm guessing we probably caught 50 or more hybrids in just a few hours using his splasher and electronics set up. Water was 50 degrees and air temp was just a few degrees above freezing!

Thanks for looking guys! I don't see this replacing my day job. cheers

Any Idea how most people mount the trolling motor on their center consoles? Brackets?
