Just want to say I would never waste another dollar on a Interstate Marine Battery! My boat is 13 months old and one of the trolling motor batteries has gone bad and apparently they have a 1 year warranty only! Its what it came with but next time I'll tell them to just keep the batteries and go with Walmart ones. They last longer and have no problem warranting them 24 hours a day!

I only use the Walmart Everstart Maxx Seeies 29 for my start battery and TM batteries. They have a 24 month warranty. I had one with 3 months left on the warranty go out. They tiook care of it with no charge.

You must have gotten a bad one. I've had excellent luck with Interstate batteries.

I've had them in the past also and had nothing but problems! This boat just came with them. The ridiculous part to me is the 1 year warranty! So if u have good luck with them then great! I just never have and they apparently don't have much faith in there product with the warranty! And taking care of them has nothing to do with the problem! Its got a loose plate in it causing it to short and over heat when charging!

Been there done that. Could not give me an interstate for free. Junk, and we will not even outfit them in our fire trucks. They are known for not lasting long

I have never had any problems with Interstate. I run them in my boat and in the 200 plus work trucks.

I've still got my original interstate batteries in my Phoenix 921 since 2012. Still going strong and I use them every weekend in brutal winds of Toledo Bend. I do take care of them though. That's the key.

Used to use walmart batteries but they didnt last very long when I got a bigger boat. Ive been Interstate ever since and only on my second set in 5 years. Energizer should make a marine battery since they are all about "longest lasting batteries". Even if they did, taking care of your batteries is KEY!

My Optima Blue Tops are going on five years. They did surprisingly well last weekend in 20-30 mph winds. They held us in place for nearly 4 hours with it on High 90-95% of the time. They will easily last 2 days in light wind or in a cove protected.

could be your charger , I had an older model Dual Pro charger , it was an " analog" based charger . one of my deep cycle batteries had lasted about 1 year . I replaced it , then the new one lasted about 6 months . After diagnosing the issue , my charger was " over charging" one of the batteries , effectively heating it up and causing the short term failure . I replaced it with a new Dual Pro model that " digitally " charges the battery and no more issues . The digital models sense the state of each battery and shut down the charging cycle if the battery doesn't need it .

3 boats over 20 years and always run Interstates. Never had any issues other than just worn out over a 4/5 year period. Nothing but Interstates for me.

Totally agree with Pumadon--I went though a couple of sets of batteries, changing cables, and whatever only to finally find it was the battery charger(a recent model at that) that was the problem. No battery issues since.

For my trucks, I prefer Interstate but will buy Autozone or whatever if I can't find Interstate dealer close buy. For my boat, I only buy Interstate. Had very good luck with them.
Thanks, Billy

Go to another battery brand and take your chances. Any brand can have a bad one.

My last cranking battery lasted five years . Usually get three years out of a set of trolling motor batteries.

Complete garbage and the local Interstate dealer will not stand behind them. My 2016 Ranger came with them and all 4 are at the local dealer for more evaluation. I've been told my charger is bad and my boat was built incorrectly. I put in an Optima and some Continental deep cycles and the problem is gone.
Never again. Garbage product with a garbage warranty.

There are about three companies left manufacturing batteries. Different day, different label.
Sometimes you get one that's pretty good, sometimes not, sometimes it's about your maintenance of it.
Pick a brand you like and go with it.

Grp 31 AGM is the way to go. Got over 5 years out of the Sears Platinum Diehard. Also they have 104 amp hrs. Most others have ~ 80 amp hours.
Only a few manufactures of batteries. The current set I just brought have Energizer tags on the but they are made by Penn East. The brand that Penn East uses is Deka. I brought these in lots of 50 for SCADA equipment. They are good batteries.
Down side is price at $229 ea. However it's a once and done. I won't be going thru the bs of having to head to Walmart hell.

Take care of em , know matter what brand , but will not deal with Wal-Mart , Wal-Mart Hell describes it very well , even if they are every where and open 24/7 .

I have used Interstate, Continental, Stowaway, Optima, Energizer, AC Delco, and Walmart...maybe more. I have actually had at least as good luck, maybe better, with Walmart than any other brand. They're cheaper, too.
The three I will never buy again are Continental, Stowaway, and Optima. Continental is the worst battery I have ever used and for the money it is my opinion Optima isn't far behind.
