Have you used electric steer? Some people hate them and you'll be fishing a stumpy lake. I have the terrova and I like the electric steer. I bet you could drop to a 24v if you wanted to. I was out there a couple of weeks ago on the lights and was using my spot lock quite a bit.
What kind of boat did you end up buying?

I'm a huge fan of the Xi5. I have a 80lb on my 18'8" boat, it has been the best investment I have made on my boat.

20' would be right on the cusp of me wanting the 36v. I would hate to not have enough power when needed. If you get (or have) an electric steer (MG Xi5 or MK Terova/Riptide) and have an issue with it hitting or mounting it, please take a look at the LiftSaver TM Mount at www.liftsavertmmount.com for a possible solution to the mounting issues they have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIdPRg4IxWo

Do you have to have a HDS on the front for the Xi5 to work? Can it run off the console graph?

Xi5 will work without any graph attached. The graph adds some additional functionality to the the motor. It can run off of a console unit just fine. The troller and HDS connect via the NMEA network.

I recently installed a 36v power drive on my 21ft cc and I could not be more pleased. There is more than enough power and the anchor feature has held its position even with all the crazy wind we have had lately. It is by far the best upgrade I have made.

Wow!!!!!! is all I say..Love it I am excited about fishing again so easy and never knew a TM could be this quiet..24v does fine on a 21 ft rig. Went for the 1st time by myself too.. found myself fishing all over the boat ..effortless.
