I have not fished Millwood, but I have fished Greeson from the bank a few times. Greeson is a deep clear mountain lake. It's known for good crappie fishing, but you have to find the brushpiles. I used to stop when I was traveling and fish where Hwy 70 crosses the upper end. My very first cast ever there netted a 4# hybrid. I've also caught a few small bass there. This area is close to Daisy State Park, and this is the area I'd fish in a kayak. You're making me want to go give it a try.

That's good intelligence from Warhawk! There'd be so many great places to fish in Arkansas that having a resident narrow it down a bit helps.
I have mentioned elsewhere that I watched an episode of Bill Dance's TV program a week or two ago when he took a break from his bass fishing episodes and went to the White River in Arkansas and fished for trout. Wow! The scenery and the water purity alone would make it a great trip. Dance and his crowd, including the CEO of Rebel Lures as I recall, looked to be floating slowly downriver with a well-known guide service. They were catching trout of all sorts.
This is on my bucket list!

The Little Red river below Greers Ferry lake is another year round trout fishery. That river runs about a mile from the farm where my mom grew up. We used to fish there as kids, usually brought home a pile of fish.
Lost Oki, lake Magnolia is another good looking lake in SW Arkansas, as is Dierks lake. I worked with a lady who crappie fished on Dierks quite a bit. And caught a lot of fish.

Greeson, Little Missouri, Millwood and Dierks are all within 45 minutes of Nashville. Now I am going to have to find time for work.

I've been to the White River many times, and have canoed all the stretches between the dam and Buffalo City. Nice water and excellent fishing. I need to get my kayak there.

I fished the Little Missouri below Greeson for trout last winter - did pretty well with a fly rod and a san juan worm.

Wading. I have a hard enough time managing a fly rod without the additional complication of sitting down in my kayak.
