Went to Texoma to do a little shallow water crappie fishing. Caught several shorts but only a few keepers. On the way back to the boat ramp the birds were really working on the shad. We pulled out a couple of rods rigged with 4" sassy shad and caught about 30 stripers. Not much size to them. Biggest fish was about 3 lbs. and average fish was about a pound and a half. Lots of fun to catch. I was glad to see the birds working. Seems like we had a healthy threadfin spawn. Today is a prime example of why when I'm fishing Texoma I always have a couple of rods ready for striper when the birds start diving, even if I'm not striper fishing.
