I am taking my dad fishing on Whitney this week to hopefully catch his first ever striper (he turns 70 this year). I want to put him on fish. He made sure I was able to fish and had something to fish out of from the time I was old enough to hold a rod.
I was catching stripers a while back on live bait in 20-30 ft of water but haven't tried them lately. Are there fish to be caught on sassy shad type swim baits or is it all live bait still? Trying to figure out where to take him on the lake. I haven't thrown artificial for them before. Not sure if that is right on the bank or out in 25 ft of water.
Any advice would be appreciated.
