Thanks for the tips. We had a blast fishing Whitney for the most part. We went out Saturday morning and stayed on Towash for about 4 hours.
We caught about 30-40 fish "all under size". I was marking fish mostly on humps in about 12-18 fow. Wind was brutal, couldn't stay on a spot. Could see the fish piled up in the humps. Throw my lure down and see it on my graph. I see this all the time on TV but never did it before. We were catching just about every cast. Sunday morning I didn't want to battle the wind so I fished Lakeview point, caught about 5.
You could see the shad roaming the rocks. I used an umbrella rig with whit grubs and also a lead hook with a white grub. I also used a minnow slab weight 1/2. My brother loved the trip. He was already planning the next outing. LOL.

I didn't fish live bait. We were planning on net casting for them and hitting deeper water but I am not setup for windy days.

We spoke with other boaters and they experienced the same thing. A lot of fish just all undersized. Hope this helps someone.
TIGHT LINES.

Thanks for all your posts Steve... I fished Friday also.. Put in at McCowan and tried to get shad at Cedron area... Zero... Pulled out the XD 5 and 6"s and trolled the flats north of Bridge... Nice stripper up to 27 inches and whites... Not many birds working... But with the wind and clouds, it was a very productive day..

We have been having pretty good luck on topwater early in the day and traps and swimbaits after the topwater dies down. pretty much all the usual spots where the south wind has been pushing bait up on banks or into willows. 15ft up to 3 or 4 feet of water. some stripers, mostly whites and quite a few black bass as well.
