We fought the wind most of the day, didn't get out on the water and to our spot on our kayaks until after lunch time, but we caught some fish. Nothing all that large today but they were pretty! Two pics! Note the variation of colors. The second photo shows the distinctive striping some bluegills show. This one also has the nice ruby-colored breast related to the spawn. The first fish is more monochromatic, just a healthy looking bluegill in more of a green tinted body. Brad

Nice fish Brad. You have one great fishery! Good job catching em is some rough conditions.

I'll get back out this weekend, maybe as early as Friday afternoon.
I like to fish mornings and evenings . . . like most of us do I suppose. Over the summer, this is almost imperative fishing from a kayak and what I have found is that if I get on the water early, the weather is great even in July/August, until about noon or 1 PM.
Back I go . . . in search of an 11" bluegill! I am getting closer and closer!

Nice fish. Once the heat of summer sets in early morning and late evenings along with night fishing will be the plans!

Hit Tyler State Park. Some really big sunfish in there. I get a few over 11 inches every year.

I'm sure you will find him eventually. It would be easier to catch him out of that fish tank at the hatchery
